Texas Rising Star

We are a Texas Rising Star Facility
The Texas Rising Star program is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system for child care programs participating in the Texas Workforce Commission’s (TWC) subsidized child care program. Texas Rising Star certification is available to licensed centers and licensed and registered child care home facilities that meet the certification criteria.
The Texas Rising Star program offers three levels of quality certification (2- Star, 3-Star, and 4-Star) to encourage child care and early learning programs to attain progressively higher levels of quality.
Why Daycare Centers are Important
Having centers in a daycare setting is extremely important because they provide structured environment that allows children to engage in self-directed play, explore different learning areas based on their interests, develop self independence, and practice various skills like problem-solving, social interaction, and fine motor skills, all while catering to diverse learning styles within a classroom setting.
This in turn, promotes holistic child development through hands on and play based learning.
Benefits of Using Centers in Daycare
Promotes exploration and discovery
Centers provide open-ended materials and activities that encourage children to experiment and learn through play.
Builds independence and self-confidence
Children make their own choices about which center to visit and what activities to engage in, fostering autonomy.
Individualized learning
Children can choose the center that most interests them, allowing them to focus on specific skills or concepts at their own pace.
Positive social interactions
Centers can encourage collaboration and sharing as children play with peers in designated areas.
Easy observation and assessment
Teachers can easily monitor children’s progress and identify areas where additional support may be needed by observing their interactions within centers.
Classroom management
By dividing children into smaller groups at different centers, teachers can manage the classroom more effectively.
Development of multiple skills
Different centers can be designed to target various developmental areas like Gross motor, Dramatic Play, Art & Sensory, Manipulative Play, Reading, creativity, and Social Skills.
